“Around 1174, Hildegard von Bingen sent a copy of her Symphonia to a monk in the Cistercian Abbey of Villers in Brabant. Later, the manuscript also ended up in Affligem Abbey and eventually in St. Peter and Paul Abbey in Dendermonde. The latter abbey has now decided to give the manuscript for long-term preservation to the Maurits Sabbe Library at the KU Leuven Faculty of Theology and Religious Sciences.”
