Nachlass Claus Schöndube (CS) in Florenz

“The private papers of the German federalist writer and journalist Claus Schöndube (1927-2007), (480 files) can be consulted at the HAEU and the corresponding inventory is available on line. The fond consist of documents covering the many varied federalist and journalistic activities of Schöndube throughout the years including his youth. It also comprises a rich collection of photographs of national and international federalist events, numerous audio and video tapes mainly concerning his journalistic activities, press cuttings and a small amount of official documents produced by the European Parliament’s services. The fonds illustrates Schöndube’s journalistic endeavours in providing information for and during the elections for the European Parliament since the first direct elections in 1979, his numerous broadcasts for the ‘Westdeutscher Rundfunk’ (WDR), the elaboration of the ‘’Charta of the European Identity’ by the working group of the ‘Europa-Union Deutschland which he chaired (1994/1995) and, of course, his lifelong dedication to the “Europäische Zeitung”. The fonds is freely accessible for consultation. Some of the material is subject to stringent copyright rules and certain documents cannot be photocopied for preservation reasons. German is the main language of the fonds. Reproduction of the documents is limited to 500 photocopies/digital copies per researcher, per annum.”
